1) In “Finder” select “Go” and “Connect to Server…” at the bottom of the “Go” menu. Alternatively right click “Finder” in the Dock and select “Connect to Server…”

2) In “Connect to Server” box that appears enter:

smb://your_server_ip/shared
For example: smb://46.20.43.100/shared

You can click “+” to add to “Favorites”.

4) When prompted select “Registered User” and enter your username and password for remote desktop.

5) Now the remote folder is mounted on your Mac as an additional drive.

6) You can make it visible on your desktop by going to “Preferences” in “Finder” and ticking the “Connected Servers” checkbox.

You can now copy any files to this new drive and they will become accessible on your remote desktop in “My Computer >> Drive C: >> Shared” folder. You can do the same the other way round.

This is it! It is extremely easy to move files to and from your remote desktop!
